  • User research provided valuable insights into the common challenges users face with managing household chores, which informed product strategy

  • A clickable prototype that illuminated areas that required additional focus in future iterations, such as handling booking cancellations, addressing failed payments, and implementing effective task tracking

Outcomes

Approach

Human-centered Design

Methodology

Interviews • Paper prototyping • Low to high-fidelity screens • Journey mapping • Usability testing

In the Philippines, particularly in Metro Manila, the working class dedicates a significant portion of their time to earning a livelihood. They strive to fulfil household responsibilities amid unpredictable work demands. To manage other important aspects of their lives, such as spending quality time with family, many individuals opt to seek assistance from family members or hire external help to handle errands and daily tasks.

User experience design

Over a period of six weeks, our team successfully completed a full cycle of user experience design. We began by conducting user research and defining our product strategy, specifically concentrating on the common challenges associated with managing daily household chores.

Initially, we performed a competitive analysis of existing services, which enabled us to develop user personas. Subsequently, we designed interview questions and initiated the recruitment of participants for our interviews. This investigation allowed us to identify significant patterns and themes, subsequently leading to the creation of a journey map and user flows.

Given that this represents the first iteration, we carefully prioritized the features to focus on for the prototype. We consolidated all our research findings and developed a paper prototype to evaluate the user flow. Based on insights gathered from these testing sessions, we refined the user flows further and advanced the development of software wireframes.

Usability Testingssssssss

After conducting the usability test, we found that the user interface and experience could be significantly enhanced. Generally, users appreciated the platform for its ease of use and clear navigation. However, we did not have the opportunity to address negative scenarios, such as booking cancellations, failed payments, and task tracking.
